Cardiac Event Monitor Overview

What is SmartPatch?

SmartPatch is a cardiac device used to monitor the heart’s activity over an extended period while a patient goes about their daily activities.

Unlike traditional monitoring, which occurs in a hospital, SmartPatch allows patients to wear the event monitor outside the medical facility, making it convenient and less intrusive.

It is especially beneficial for diagnosing intermittent heart issues that may not show up during a brief exam or hospital visit. The patch is worn right above the left breast and will accurately gather cardiac activity whether you are active or asleep.

How does it work?

The SmartPatch cardiac event monitor records the heart’s electrical activity in real time, capturing data such as:

  • Heart rate
  • Rhythm
  • Any irregularities or cardiac events that occur throughout the monitoring period
Patients wear it for a duration ranging between 5-7 days to ensure enough daily cardiac activity is analyzed.  The data collection is then reviewed by our team to detect conditions like arrhythmias, palpitations, or other abnormalities.  We report this data to your physician so he or she can make you aware of any issues.

How do I purchase?

There are different options for using SmartPatch, but the easiest and most popular is our subscription program.  Facilities can choose how many cardiac event monitors they would like on monthly basis, cancellable at any time.

Patients who would like to use SmartPatch must do so through their doctor.  If you are patient interested in our cardiac monitor, please fill out our Patient Referral Form to get us in contact with your doctor.
